League of Legends players have pointed out a major flaw in the new dragon-inspired Heavenscale skin line for the Lunar New Year event.

League of Legends has had its fair share of problems when it comes to monetization. As a completely free-to-play game, the developers are able to fund the game through the sale of in-game cosmetics such as skins, summoner icons, and ward skins. The most popular of the lot, skins feature characters in an alternate fantasy, changing their abilities, models, and sound effects.

Riot has had some issues in the past when it comes to monetizing skins. Especially in recent times, where players have complained about more premium offers released by Riot, which could cost players up to $500 if they were unlucky.

Now League of Legends players have pointed out a new major flaw in the latest skin line, specifically with regard to champions receiving skins.

However, with Year of the Dragon being the theme for the skin, players pointed out how ridiculous it was that neither Aurelian Soul nor Shayvana made it into the lineup.

“Another Chinese skin would have been redundant for Shaivana, but even with Assol they were ignored in the Year of the Dragon which seems wrong,” the post reads.

Many players were struck by the excessive amount of skins for certain champions, with Ezreal getting an epic and Lee Sin getting his third legendary skin.

“This is Azriel’s fourth skin in 10 months and his last skin was about 60 days ago…. Did he really need a king in this skin line…” explained one.

Damasian dragon Shyvana often lives out of skin lines, no longer receiving up to her VGU.

Others called out Dev for being unfair to Shaivana, who won’t get a skin until her visual update, but Lee Sin is still able to get legendary for the new line.

“Shyawa has no skins before his VGU, knowing that his VGU will most likely be at the end of 2025 while Lee Sin will become legendary a few months before his ASU,” they said.

Aurelian Sol will receive a skin in the upcoming Porcelain Skin line, which unfortunately leaves Chaivana with nothing for this Lunar New Year.
