League of Legends’ new Legendary Hubris item explained
Could Akali return to the meta in patch 10.7?
League of Legends’ next patch is right around the corner. And it’s bringing a lot of new stuff to AD Assassin fans, including a new legendary item, Hubris.
Things in LoL saw a big change last year, with Riot ditching the controversial mythic system. Now season 14 is here and bringing with it more changes and more new things.
Including a legendary that is sure to be a hit with AD assassin champs. Hubris is a new legendary item that has two unique tricks. Most notably his passivity, ego, and reputation, which deal bonus damage for a successful takedown.

In fact, the ego is central to the way things work. Taking down an enemy champ summons the player’s statue to the outside of their spawn.
Each subsequent take-down upgrades the statue, increasing the bonus damage buff granted by Eminence by 10 plus one additional damage per statue.

Building Hubris will require building a Serrated Dirk and Caulfield’s Warhammer first. Once these two items are in your kit, the recipe itself is 900 gold. The item has 60 attack damage, 15 ability haste and 18 lethality upon purchase, making it a good value for its price.

Not a bad choice for players who like to dive behind enemy lines for squishy pickoffs. However, there is some risk inherent in the purchase as players will need to be able to stack it to get the most out of it.
However, its price point and damage output have already led some fans to dub it the new Mejai’s Souleater.
Hubris arrives in League of Legends on January 10, 2024, with patch 14.1 along with the rest of the new items.
