It is the management of the Vendee Divisional Hospital Center itself that is sounding the alarm. Emergency services offer pick-up times “Especially important, due to lack of availability of sufficient beds in the downstream sector”, explained a press release issued mid-week. Co-Responsible for Emergency/Samu/Smur at Wendy’s Hospital Center, Dr. Valerie Debier sighed: “Due to lack of space, in the emergency room of La Roche-sur-Yon, we recently kept a patient for over forty-eight hours. We even reached a stay of about four days for one patient. »(1)
The Departmental Hospital Center explains that housing solutions can be offered for the elderly, particularly in nursing homes (residential institutions for dependent elderly), but for elders “outside the geographical area”. Is this a satisfactory solution?…
