The subject was identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Gutierrez and is wanted for the murder of 27-year-old Randy Mota Bastida.
The incidents date back to Jan. 23 around 5:35 p.m. in the 3500 block of Fawn Valley Drive where officers responded to a shooting.
A preliminary investigation determined that Mota got into an altercation with the suspect and the latter opened fire, injuring Mota and another person. Both were taken to hospital, where Mota succumbed to her injuries.
The condition of the other person is stable.
Rudy Nieves spoke to relatives of the elder Bastida, who described him as “cheerful, outgoing and loved to joke”.
Another relative indicated that “I was there when everything happened. I iron my hair, I call it Randy, they call you out. Two crazy people, they went crazy. We go out like this and Jonathan arrives shooting everyone. When I came out I saw Randy on the ground. “I went crazy.”
In addition, they expressed feelings of fear and dread.
