The affair is dramatic. The parents of a dead little boy have decided to sue an American hospital and want to know the exact circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
A horror story. When 20-year-old Jessica Ross’ water broke, she was rushed to Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia on July 9. He thought he would be able to hold his little boy in his arms after a few hours.
But the birth did not go according to plan. Quite the opposite. As the baby’s head presented, his shoulders remained stuck for several hours, “due to shoulder dystocia.”
After some time, the gynecologist wanted to take the baby out. At that point he allegedly “negligently applied excessive traction.”
The child’s head had split open, freeing itself from the still stuck body. An emergency caesarean section was performed to free the remaining tiny body of the stillborn child.
The little boy, Treven Isaiah Taylor Jr., was pronounced dead.
When parents Jessica Ross and Trayvon Isaiah Taylor asked to see their baby, little Trayvon Isaiah Taylor, and hold him in their arms despite the tragedy, the healthcare team presented him from a distance, wrapped very tightly to hide the fact that the head was there. separated from the body. As reported by CNN, the head was arranged so that the beheading could not be seen.
At that time, the parents did not know that the head had been split open and that their child had died due to this beheading.
The medical team recommends quick cremation. The parents also claimed that the staff tried to prevent them from performing the autopsy. And only when the mother left the hospital did they discover the beheading. It was the funeral home that notified the parents.
Faced with this news, the parents decided to take legal action against the hospital and the medical team. On Tuesday, February 6, the Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled it a homicide.
In a press release, he clarified that the infant had died “Fracture Dislocation of the Upper Cervical Spine and Complete Vertebral Transection”Because of one “Shoulder dystocia, labor failure and fetal entrapment in the birth canal”.
The forensic doctor added that the tragedy of gestational diabetes and premature rupture of membranes should not be ignored during pregnancy.
Brian Byers, director of the Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Office, explained on CNN: “I’ve never seen anything like this before. No one in our office has seen anything like this. Everyone we’ve consulted with has never seen a situation like this before.”
