After 3 years of waiting and teasing, Machine Games and Bethesda have finally lifted the curtain on their long awaited Indiana Jones game. As promised, the publisher and developer released a gameplay video during the Xbox Developer_Direct conference this Thursday, January 18, 2024, with a lot of information to note.

The first is that an old rumor regarding the game’s final title has been confirmed, with this new product bearing the name Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Some domain names were also registered for this purpose. As Indiana Jones says in this first video, “If you connect all these ancient sites around the world, you get a perfect circle.”
Described by Todd Howard as a “love letter to Indiana Jones”, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will take place between the episodes. The Raiders of the Lost Ark And The Last Crusade. There we will find a vigilant adventurer, but always reckless and plunged into unbelievable adventures. Completely separate from the cinematic saga, this latest challenge looks like the end point of an incredible career for our favorite explorer.
The opening of the game places Indiana at Marshall College where he is awakened by the sounds of a break-in in the middle of the night. He then discovers a large and mysterious man who appears to be an insignificant artifact, which inevitably piques our hero’s curiosity. This is when an adventure full of action and mystery begins.
The released gameplay video shows our hero at his best. For example, we can see him using his famous whip to hang himself above the ground or even disarm his opponents. Hence the game will take place in full first-person view except for some climbing scenes, cutscenes or transverse movements such as sewers to climb.
Special care has also been taken with the different environments we will discover during our journey, for an adventure we imagine will be full of twists and turns.
As mentioned many times, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be exclusive to Microsoft consoles. Its release is scheduled for 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, with day one availability in Xbox Game Pass. The game will also be available on PC and PC Game Pass on the same date.
