JVTech News If you have a PC running Windows 10 or 11, Microsoft is finally offering its free program to clean and refurbish it.
Bye bye CCleaner! In line with Windows Defender, Microsoft is finally releasing an official cleaning tool for PCs.
Since the early days of personal computers, they have always been less prone to bugs or slowdowns (sometimes prematurely). Over time, Microsoft has put in place solutions to limit them as much as possible, without offering native software on Windows capable of solving all of these problems. But after more than 30 years of life, things are about to change for the OS which recently got its own official cleaning tool that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.. Before talking about it in more detail, you should know that most people who want to clean and “refresh” their PC have to use third-party software like CCleaner.
Their main utility lies in their ability to remove unnecessary or unused temporary files, caches, cookies, and registry entries that clutter hard drives and slow down computer performance.. By doing so, this software frees up space and thus allows smooth operation of the system. Additionally, by regularly cleaning junk files and optimizing system settings, they help reduce startup time and speed up computer processes.. So, for users who rely on their computer for work or play, this performance optimization can make a big difference in efficiency and productivity.
As we explained to you a little above, Microsoft now has its own powerful cleaning tool, PC Manager. After the release of the first public beta in October 2022, the software is finally available in its final version on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and 11.. Comparable to CCleaner, a well-established third-party software for cleaning Windows systems, PC Manager aims to declutter Windows system folders and improve overall computer performance by freeing up space.
Originally developed for the Chinese market, Microsoft’s PC Manager application is now available for download in some regions. However, despite being visible in the Microsoft Store, the app, available in English, Spanish and Chinese, Priority, cannot yet be downloaded in France. (We can expect imminent arrival). For those looking to uninstall CCleaner to install PC Manager, here’s what Microsoft’s cleaning tool offers in terms of features (source: Windows Latest):
