On the night of Thursday January 25, a young woman was left in a gondola at a ski resort in California in the United States. She spent the night alone in subzero temperatures.
“Wonderland, when will I see you again?” Monica Lasso may have asked herself this Thursday, January 25, after spending 15 hours in a gondola at Heavenly Mountain Resort in California.
Around 5 p.m., the snowboarder asked employees to use the ski lift to leave the summit, too exhausted to make the final descent. Two minutes after he left the cabin shut down and the lights went out.
Unfortunately, Monica didn’t have her phone with her. She saw employees at a distant ski area. “I screamed desperately, until my voice was gone,” she told California channel KCRA. But no one saw or heard him.
The girl spent the whole night alone in the cabin. The temperature dropped to -7 degrees. Although her friends reported her missing, law enforcement did not think to search for Gondola.
The lifts resumed at 8:30 am as usual. After rubbing his hands and feet to fight the cold, he was finally able to come down.
After the emergency medical examination, Monica was doing well. Domain explained in a press release: “The safety and well-being of our customers is our highest priority. We are investigating this situation with the utmost seriousness.”
