Here are the areas affected by the fuel shortage

For several days, blockages have been reported at oil depots in Brittany. A protest movement that is not without consequences on fuel stocks, as many areas are already starting to report shortages.

In fact, construction professionals have launched a blockade for several days to demand a new tax on GNR. Like farmers, this non-road diesel is especially used for construction machinery. After Lorient, it was the Brest oil depot that was blocked by demonstrators on 8 February. The actions are already affecting fuel stocks at service stations in the region. If this protest increases, the fuel shortage may spread to other regions of the country.

Will fuel shortages become widespread?

For regions where shortages are reported. Brest is one of the first, the U Express Carrichen station has had more fuel since last Thursday. Additionally, two Total and Intermarche stations are reporting a shortage of SP95. Plouzané is also affected by the lack of fuel. The entrance to the Carrefour station is completely closed. In Guilers, E.Leclerc central station is also closed due to lack of fuel.

Several other Breton towns are also affected by fuel shortages. These include Plougastel-Doulas and Rellec-Kerhuon. The country of Erois is also affected by lack of fuel stocks. Some stations have enforced a limit of 20 liters for customers, while others are out of stock. Relevant towns include Saint-Rénan, Plaudalmezou, Plougonvelin.

In the Pays des Ebers, a similar observation in the stations of Plebanec and Lenlis. In the Pays de Landreau, some stations were forced to close due to fuel shortages. Others record a lack of SP98, such as in Landreau, Doulas, Dirinon and La Martire. A similar observation in the Pays de Châteaulin where lack of stock forced many stations to limit the amount of fuel offered to customers.

On Monday, the Economy and Finance Minister indicated that canceling the tax hike on GNR is not possible. However, a refund of the surcharge paid this year will be possible in 2025, reports France Bleu. This TICPE reimbursement should concern companies with less than 15 employees whose annual consumption is less than 300,000 litres.
