HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 Actress Adds ‘Future Superstar’ to Cast

In an interview with Deadline published on February 12, Isabella Merced – who will play Deanna on the HBO Our Last Season 2 — talked a bit about filming this new season and teased that someone very special has been added to the cast.

“The stars really aligned,” Merced told Deadline. “I have had many friends with whom I have worked in the industry for a long time connecting with artists. I can’t tell who joined now. But it’s amazing. And he is a future superstar and already a superstar in my eyes.”

Merced also praised her co-star Kaitlyn Dever.Booksmart) who is playing the role of Abby Our Last Season 2stating that she is “one of the most talented actors I have ever worked with.”

“And Craig Mazin is one of the most brilliant people, actually, I think, a genius. I’m sure if they did the test, they’d find out that’s true. And he has a way of bringing these characters to life that are so No one could come in less time. I love it. It’s amazing.”

As for Merced, she herself is well-versed in the show’s source material, and has felt confident in her portrayal of Dinah so far.

“We had a day of shooting for me as Deanna and I have to say, we kind of ate, I’m not going to lie,” she told Deadline. “I was a big fan of the second game. I played it like a weekend. And then I wondered how this would translate to TV.

Merced has a very busy shooting schedule this year, as she was also in Sony’s newly released film Madam Webb

And currently shooting for James Gunn Superman Legacy With Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney as Hawkgirl.
