Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to feature a female protagonist, but she doesn’t “wake up” because of it, according to the person who voiced one of the main characters in the previous entry in the series.
Speaking to IGN as part of its GTFM video series, Ned Luke, who voiced Michael in the fifth entry in the series, said that the new entry in the Rockstar Games franchise doesn’t “wake up” because it has a female protagonist, calling those thinking clowns. Lucia looked good in the public trailer, Ned Luke continued, adding that this isn’t the first time the series has had a female protagonist.
While a vocal fan base may complain about it, Grand Theft Auto 6’s female protagonist seems to have been generally well-received. It remains to be seen what her role will be in the game, as the revealed trailer didn’t show much of the game’s story, only showing a general introduction to Vice City and the setting.
On the other hand, what the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has made clear is how much of a visual jump it will be from its predecessor. This massive increase in visual quality was further highlighted by some trailer recreations made using GTA V’s engine.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and is scheduled for a 2025 release. We will keep you updated about the game soon, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
