The G2 Esports Quartet

The 2023 G2 esports season has been punctuated by ups and downs, with notable regional successes in the LEC, but also a difficult time on the international stage. The team finished the year by winning three major titles: the Winter and Summer Splits Championships, as well as the 2023 LEC Season Finals. The wins cemented G2 Esports’ position as the top European seed for League of Legends Worlds 2023. However, his venture into South Korea did not go according to plan. Considered underdogs against powerhouses Korea and China, G2 was eliminated in the fifth round of the Swiss stage, narrowly missing out on advancing to the quarterfinals. This early elimination not only ended his international pursuit, but also closed his 2023 sporting season.

For 2024, G2 Esports has opted for stability in its team, opting to make no changes to its starting lineup. So the structure has retained its five, which confirms its faith in the acquired synergy and collective experience. There have also been no major changes to G2 Esports’ coaching staff, with Dylan Falco as head coach, as well as Ismael “Isma” Pedraza and Rodrigo “Rodrigo” Dominguez Oliveira as performance managers. Coach and Head Analyst respectively. The only notable new addition for 2024 was the arrival of Christopher “Duffman” Duff as assistant coach.

G2 Esports entered the 2024 season with great ambitions, aiming to strengthen its dominant position in the LEC while facing challenges internationally. His European campaign starts on a positive note, but it is still early in the season. On February 3, in the first round of the 2024 LEC Winter Split Playoffs, the Caps-led team dominated GiantX with a convincing 2-0 victory. This success opens the door to the second round of the playoffs, bearing witness to his current competitive form. On the sidelines of this meeting, an important announcement was made by the management of G2 Esports regarding the future of its management staff. Dylan Falco, the head coach, as well as Romain Bigard, Ismael “Isma” Pedraza and Rodrigo “Rodrigo” Dominguez Oliveira, have all renewed their commitment to the team through the end of the 2025 season. This contract renewal signals not only stability in the coaching staff, but confidence in their current direction and methods to achieve success.
