Fortnite players want the “frustrating” Chapter 5 reloading mechanic to go away forever

Rory Teale

Fortnite players are frustrated with the reloading mechanic in Chapter 5, claiming that base reloading has been altered with the addition of magazine modifications.

Epic Games has made changes to Fortnite Battle Royale mechanics that were considered controversial in the past.

Players have been complaining about a number of changes in Chapter 5 Season 1, such as a change in movement graphics that fans considered “janky”.

However, Epic Games was responsive to player complaints, with the developers releasing a tweet to inform players why it felt strange.

Now, players have started noticing another mechanic that seems wrong, reloading, and demanding that Epic Games address the reloading mechanic as well.

Fortnite players make sure reloading is bugged

One player, fed up with reload animation and timer issues, posted his frustrating experiences on social media.

“Is the reloading mechanic frustratingly long this season?” They asked the rest of the Fortnite community.

They went on to say that they were “surprised” by the reload times this season, particularly recalling the time when they “literally got to the part of the animation where I was putting the gun in normal position,” then they fenced and reloaded. Loading aborted.

But other Fortnite players assured the original poster that they weren’t going crazy.

“Yeah, it doesn’t finish reloading when it says it does. That’s why you use speed mags. Infinitely better than a drum,” said one.

“Exactly this,” another person agrees with complaints. “They changed the reload timer graphic. So if you’re used to the pre-chapter 5 way you’re always going to be fractional early and therefore cancel reloading.”

However, while other players also faced this issue, they didn’t take the change as badly as others and saw it as an opportunity for some fun teamwork.

“Myself and the crew I play with have gotten into the habit of randomly saying “reload check” several times throughout the match. Many times afterwards there are sounds of multiple guns being reloaded and many laughs and thank yous,” one said the fan.
