Fortnite players regret buying hundreds of skins

The Fortnite Item Shop always offers the hottest cosmetics of the moment. Six years later, players are now wondering why they invested so much.

In the last six years since its arrival, Fortnite’s approach to cosmetics has changed the industry. Each season introduces new collaborations with brands like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Marvel, or celebrities like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande.

That’s not counting the Battle Pass which has provided some of the best skins in the game, with the recent addition of Peter Griffin and Solid Snake.

It’s a wonderful adventure, and quite expensive, whether you’re a beginner or you’ve started after a few seasons. And now players are thinking about their cosmetic journey.

Fortnite players are considering their Fortnite cosmetic purchases

The Fortnite subreddit is home to many discussions about questionable spending habits. One of the latest targeted cosmetic choices.

Why did I buy 236 skins when I mainly use 15-20. Player u/Mister-Squidward shows proof of purchase. With nearly 1800 skins in the game, 236 isn’t as bad as you might think, especially when others share a higher number.

Many players shared their views on their spending choices. In particular, they talked about what they would have done differently if they had the chance. ” Honestly, if I could go back in time, I’d rarely buy skins, and instead do all the battle passes.. One player said when he thought about all the BP skins he missed.

Another answer shared a unique perspective on cosmetic choices. ” IRL, we typically wear 20% to 80% of our total wardrobe. It’s not that different “, he said.

Of course, this question highlights the dilemma of fear of missing out on something trending that has mastered streaming games like Fortnite. Indeed, rotating inventory gives the impression that certain cosmetics will never be returned.
