Epic Games continues to use AI bots to populate Fortnite matches despite having millions of daily players, which has angered many players.
Fortnite’s ever-changing battle royale community always has differing opinions, no matter how effective new features, weapons, or in-game items are.
Chapter 5 brought a bunch of new features that breathed fresh air into the game and changed the way players compete for the Victory Royale.
However, one feature that has been around since Chapter 2, Season 1, is the use of AI bots, which has once again created a wave of discontent among the player base.
Fortnite player eL_graves asked the community: “Is this fun for anyone? With millions of daily players, what’s the point? » This is illustrated by a short video in which the player easily eliminates an opponent suspected to be an AI robot without any effort.
Despite having three medals equipped and an inventory full of items, they let off a targeted missile with their Evil Rocket launcher, and the opposing player took the win, only wounding him.
Other players were quick to criticize Epic’s overuse of AI bots: “Winning a game and ending up in a game full of bots is boring.” This cycle is unsatisfactory. »
Others said it “ruined” the game. But some defended the AI, saying it allowed them to play without dying from the start of the match.
AI bots have been used for about five years to balance game difficulty through skill-based matchmaking. Unless Epic provides information suggesting otherwise, it looks like this feature will be in Fortnite for a while.
