It’s fair to say that anticipation for the next installment in the Rockstar Games-developed Grand Theft Auto saga is at an all-time high, and some fans are already eagerly awaiting its release.

I’d say GTA VI expectations began to rise when Rockstar Games admitted that the title was in development in February 2022, or after revealing its first official gameplay trailer in December 2023. But to be honest, the excitement for GTA VI has probably been building since 2013 with the release of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

One person excited to experience GTA VI, but perhaps in a very different way than the rest of us, is Lawrence Sullivan aka “Florida Joker.” The man is at the center of failed attempts to sue Rockstar Games for the alleged use of his image in a trailer. In his latest attempt to negotiate with Rockstar Games, he has promised to drop his lawsuit as long as he can voice the character in GTA VI. I doubt Rockstar Games is too worried about this though.

However, for the rest of us who are planning for the release of GTA VI, some of us may try to fake a sick day, but if you have some time available, it would be best to book this officially updated. . Additionally, fans are also talking about the good old days of midnight releases and GTA VI could be the perfect game for such an occasion.

I never participated in many midnight releases, as I was more likely to order a game to be delivered to my home on release day. That said, the midnight release of Gears of War 3 still brings back fond memories of chatting with friends and strangers alike as we grabbed a copy of the game and rushed home to play it on the Xbox 360.

Gamers on Reddit are discussing their willingness to queue up at midnight for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. “Knowing how huge GTA V’s midnight release was, it would be legendary if there was a midnight release for GTA VI,” Redditor thebroyouhate said to start the discussion on the thread.

“These are the good old days. Now players just download games online,” said Honest-Caramel2870. “I miss going out at midnight, it was so good! » said negativeragdoll.

“I always loved the feeling of coming home with a game in my hands that I had waited so long for. But since midnight digital releases have become a thing, I can’t imagine not playing the game right away at midnight,” explained MYNAMEISHENDRIK.

A lot of discussions on the thread also talk about the benefits of clicking the download button to buy the game digitally, and they’re not wrong. It’s fair to say that mass midnight lights are a thing of the past. However, with publishers taking away digital games, now more than ever, the preservation of physical games is fundamental. So whenever possible, I’ll never go to a midnight release again, but I’ll order at least one big game online to be delivered to my door, or if I’m in town maybe just go and buy it in store. A physical copy of the game that will always be mine.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. At the time of writing, Rockstar Games has not announced a PC release.
