Famous director defends Scarlett Johansson from criticism for failed film – Rock and Pop

When we talk about famous faces of cinema, it is impossible to leave Scarlett Johansson out of the conversation.

With his amazing performance and attitude, he conquered much of Hollywood, starring in great films in the field.

She is currently known for successful roles like Black widow or Nola rice. Which turned out amazing coupled with a very good plot.

However, not everything is rosy and Johansson knows this well, because as there were good roles, there were also some stumbles.

The most famous was a disaster film, Ghost in the Shell 2017where he played the biggest

Motoko Kusanagi, The protagonist of the plot.

The film was based on a fantastic manga, although it did not achieve the same success. It finally came to a fatal end. Which includes many criticisms of the beloved actress.

Seeing this, the director went, Mamoru Oishi, Scarlett Johansson came out to defend her and the decisions she made to make the film.

Unreasonably harsh treatment of Scarlett Johansson

It should be noted that the manga on which the film is based was very successful in both Asia and America. So it was never thought that this could not be pulled off by showing the events on the big screen.

That idea was a serious mistake, as there were several factors that led to her conviction, along with her cast.

As Espinoff confirmed, everything starts because the protagonist, according to many critics, should not be North American, but Asian. This is due to the origin of the source of inspiration. Based on this, it did not go well at all, hardly recovered what was invested and progressed into an impossible saga.

Mamoru Oishi He was not happy with the things that were said about the production and the unwarranted attacks on the origin of the hero.

“What would be the problem with choosing her? The oldest is a cyborg and her physical form is completely imaginary. Motoko Kusanagi’s name and current body are neither her name nor her actual body, so it is baseless to say that an Asian actress should play her.” declared the filmmaker.

Also, he wanted to create a simile based on another great character of the film industry.

“It’s all cinematic conventions. If it’s not allowed, So Darth Vader shouldn’t speak English either.

I think Scarlett was the best possible choice to play Motoko. I can think of only one political motivation to oppose it and I believe that artistic expression should be free from politics.” he concluded.
