Madrid, January 3 (Europa Press) –
After 1,000 days of exploration of Mars, NASA’s Perseverance rover is studying rocks that reveal several eras in Mars’ history. A billion-year-old river delta.
Scientists are investigating this area of Mars, known as Jazero Crater. to see if they can find evidence of ancient life recorded in the rocks
.NASA offers a guided tour of a fully detailed panorama of the rover’s location in November 2023, taken by the Mastcam-Z instrument.
Composed of 993 individual images and 2.38 billion pixels, The 360 degree mosaic
The rover’s science team looks in all directions from a spot called “Erie Hill.”Parts of the rover itself are visible in the scene and appear more distorted towards the edges as a result of image processing.
Color enhancement applied to an image increases contrast and emphasizes color differences. By approximating what a scene would look like under Earth-like lighting conditions, adjustment allows mission scientists to use their everyday experience to interpret the landscape. The view of Mars will be dark and red in color, NASA reports.
