Every The Marvels cameo listed and explained

As with any MCU title, The Marvels cameos range from hilarious to downright remarkable. Many familiar faces appear in the long-awaited Captain Marvel sequel, now streaming on Disney Plus after its theatrical run last November, and there are a few surprises to contend with as well.

This time, Carol Danvers teams up with Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel) and Monica Rambeau to take on the Kree warrior villain Dar-Ben, who is on a revenge path to save his home planet after a devastating civil war. However, there is one crucial problem: whenever our heroes use their powers, they switch places with each other. Kind of inconvenient when you’re trying to save the universe.

So, if you’re looking for all the major The Marvel cameos in one place, you’ll find them right here. But, before we proceed, here is your duty Spoiler alertSo proceed with caution if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want to know what happens.

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop (with bonus Lucky the Pizza Dog)

During the final moment of The Marvels, we see Kamala doing her best Nick Fury impression, as she proceeds to put together her own super-team. It’s a clever nod to the post-credits scene from the very first Iron Man movie, in which the spy-master begins to form the Avengers. Let’s be honest, wanting to form her own Young Avengers-style team is Kamala Khan’s biggest move ever…

As it turns out, Kamala’s first recruit is Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Jeremy Renner’s hokey mentee from his hit Disney Plus TV show. Kate’s loyal companion Lucky the Pizza Dog also makes an appearance – and luckily for Ms. Marvel, he doesn’t seem to mind the unexpected visit.

Our young hero asks Kate if she would be interested in joining his squad and names “Ant-Man’s daughter” Casey Lang (Katherine Newton). In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, we saw Cassie become a superhero herself, so there’s no doubt she’ll want to be a part of this super-group, too.

Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie

Marvel’s final trailer actually revealed Tessa Thompson’s appearance as Valkyrie in the Nia DaCosta-directed film’s pre-release — but if you were lucky enough to avoid that footage, this is sure to be a lovely surprise.

After not being able to save all the Skrull refugees from Dar-Ben’s attack on Tarnax in the movie, Carol decides to call a friend to help relocate the survivors. It turns out that Pal is none other than the Asgardian King Valkyrie, who we last saw in Thor: Love and Thunder. He arrives on the ship, offers some words of comfort to the troubled Captain Marvel, and then departs with the Skrulls.

It’s a sweet moment and one knowing that it reunites the star with DaCosta — Thompson appeared in the filmmaker’s debut feature Little Woods in 2018.

Kelsey Grammer as Beast

Arguably the biggest cameo in the film comes in The Marvels’ post-credits scene, in which actor Kelsey Grammer returns as the popular X-Men character Beast.

After Monica Rambeau wakes up in a hospital bed, in the alternate reality she is now stuck in, Dr. Hank McCoy, aka Beast, arrives to check on his patient. Rather thrillingly he then names another beloved X-Men character, Professor Xavier, and says that “Charles” will definitely want an update on his well-being.

Grammer has previously portrayed the Beast on screen, appearing in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Nicholas Hoult played a younger version of the character in the likes of X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, so it’s interesting that the MCU chose the older version here.

What could that mean? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out…

Lushna Lynch as Maria Rambeau aka Binary

If you thought Beast wasn’t exciting enough, The Marvel’s post-credits scene had one more surprise in store.

At the beginning of the movie, we see the return of Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel’s Maria Rambeau via flashback, as the latter explains to her bestie that she is dying and asks her to take care of Goose “until Monica comes back.” Never having been able to say goodbye to her mother since she bleeped out when she died of cancer, Monica becomes predictably emotional when she wakes up in a different reality, and realizes she’s been watched by a very much alive Maria. has been

Not that Maria recognizes him at all, shocked by Monica’s reaction, she asks who he is. After all, this is an alternate reality version of the character.

The most interesting part, however, comes at the end, where Maria swaps into her superhero suit, which looks interestingly like what a superhero binary wears in comic books. There are several versions of Binary in the comics, who is at one point the alter-ego and clone of Carol Danvers. We can probably safely assume that here in the MCU, Maria is just this reality’s version of Captain Marvel, but stranger things can happen…
