Elon Musk Visits Auschwitz Site, Says It’s ‘Incredibly Moving’

American billionaire Elon Musk made an “incredibly moving” visit to the site of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi extermination camp on Monday, just weeks after triggering a storm with comments related to conspiracy and anti-Semitism. The European Jewish Association (EJA) said Elon Musk laid a wreath and participated in a memorial service during a private visit to the former Nazi death camp alongside EJA President Rabbi Menachem Margolin. The photo showed Elon Musk visiting the location with his son on his shoulder.

“It was incredibly moving, very sad and tragic that human beings can do this to other human beings… it touches your heart even more when you see it in person,” the billionaire told a conference hosted by EJA in a neighboring city. was Cracow in southern Poland. In November, the White House accused Elon Musk of “inappropriately promoting anti-Semitic and racist hatred” when he called out a post against white people.

“Stupidest post I’ve ever made”

Elon Musk’s statement led to an avalanche of departures from major advertisers. The billionaire later apologized for what he called “the worst, stupidest post I’ve ever made”. He said his comment had been misinterpreted and sought clarification in subsequent messages. After the controversy, the SpaceX founder visited Israel, while stating that the trip was planned in advance and was not an “apology trip”. Israeli President Isaac Herzog then told him that he had a “big role to play” in the fight against anti-Semitism.

The owner of Tesla and SpaceX is accused of allowing the spread of hate speech on less anti-Semitism on X than on all other social networks,” Elon Musk said during the roundtable.
