Elizabeth Olsen returns to the MCU in her first appearance from Doctor Strange 2

Scarlet Witch Actor Elizabeth Olsen Makes Her Marvel Cinematic Universe Return After She Was Apparently Killed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.



Per Direct, Olsen appeared in the MCU series, What if…? (Season 2, Episode 8).

Olsen voiced the animated variant of the Scarlet Witch in the episode titled, “What If…The Avengers Assembled in 1602?” In the story, he snaps Captain Carter (Haley Atwell) out of his reality when Black Widow tries to stop him from being taken. Wanda Maximoff enlists Captain Carter’s help in stopping the various rifts that are tearing apart the multiverse, including one that pulls Queen Hela into the sky.

While Olsen’s screen time as Wanda was limited, she showcased the full range of her powers to stop and prevent the multiple rifts from destroying the 1602 universe. The Scarlet Witch What if…? An appearance could potentially be legacy-defining for the character on the Phase Four show, which began airing its second season on December 22 last year.

Wanda’s fate has long been debated among MCU fans since the finale of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness When she is taken out during the climactic confrontation at Mount Wundagore. An excerpt from Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline Claiming that Scarlet Witch died while trying to save her universe from destruction, “(Wanda) destroys the Wundagore – and collapses it on herself – ending two major threats to the entire multiverse.” However, many have disputed his demise.

Despite the end of Doctor Strange sequel, Olsen hasn’t completely ruled out an MCU return, despite suggesting that she wants to move on from playing Wanda and explore more non-MCU projects. Additionally, an internal report surfaced last November that claimed Marvel was interested in making a Scarlet Witch film at some point.

Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Elizabeth Olsen makes it clear that she’s in no rush to reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

Olsen has been a familiar face in the MCU since her debut as Wanda Captain America: The Winter Soldier In an uncredited cameo. She was also seen in some films the avenger movies, Captain America: Civil War and was the central character in the TV series, Wandavision.

What if…? Season 2 is now available for streaming via Disney+.
