Rodríguez participated this Tuesday in the teleSUR program, Conexión Global, in which he developed the economic and Guyana Essequiba points that President Nicolás Maduro presented the day before in his annual message to the nation at the headquarters of the National Assembly (AN).
“Amidst the blockade, which is still in force, Venezuela has not left anyone behind… Today we stand, rebuilding our inclusion model, our protection and social model,” Rodriguez said of the social and economic programs. people
“And we are doing it with our own efforts. The year 2024 is predicted to be a year of great progress for the well-being of Venezuela…”, he said in the interview.
He described President Maduro’s annual message to the nation as extraordinary, and also highlighted that 2023 was a year of progress in Venezuela’s economic development and political and social stability.
He highlighted the importance of national unity to strengthen progress in political-social and economic affairs.
He explained that last year the president introduced a formula for a comprehensive minimum income indexed to workers, which was conceived based on the principle that the income they receive does not lose value.
He recalled that during 2023, an income equivalent to $70 for active workers was created and maintained throughout the year while policies were implemented to control inflation and guarantee exchange stability, thereby further protecting the citizen.
He said that the national government constantly monitors this indicator to prevent it from losing value. He indicated that the formula worked and this led President Maduro to announce that from February 1 we will move to an equivalent income of $100 so that active workers in the public administration can receive goods and services.
He pointed out that retirees from that date will receive $70. As for pensioners – who exceed 5,500,000 – they will reach 25 dollars and exceed 30 dollars through the use of other formulas such as the delivery of Patria social security bonds. This will be financed entirely by Venezuelan state revenues.
“Last year was the year of greatest stability in dollar appreciation,” Rodriguez said. He recalled that when the exchange market was formed in 2019, this index was recorded at 7,188 percent as against 205 percent last year. He clarified that such stability also translates into price stability.
He appreciated the importance of a strong and present state, sensitive to the important problems of the republic and interested in solving them. Venezuela has not abandoned the state and implements policies to add and generate growth and development with equity rather than leaving citizens and especially vulnerable sectors at the mercy of financial speculation.
He said that 2023 is difficult, but there is progress in all areas. He explained that gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to increase by 5 percent at the end of that year, while all sectors strive to exceed 8 percent during 2024.
He believed that the greatest difficulty facing the country was to rebuild its model of Bolivarian socialism from the ashes, in the face of the devastation wrought by sanctions. Our model is diametrically opposed to Monroism and is committed to inclusion and protection of the poorest, he said.
He clarified that before the blockade of Venezuela, the UN recognized the food policies of the Bolivarian socialism model and the Human Development Index, among other issues. He asserted that the model showed it worked, which is why the US and the West attacked it with sanctions.
He pointed out that one of the 7 transformations guided by the president, Nicolás Maduro, is to not depend on oil revenues and to work the idle capacities in other productive sectors. The country will continue to develop its oil industry and implement credit policies to activate all its growth engines.
He recognized that technological dependence was a factor that affected the country’s public services, which is why he highlighted the need for independence in this regard within the framework of the 7Ts.
“It’s important that people know that everyone in Miraflores is a worker,” Delsey said. He emphasized that he had worked throughout his life, coming from the working class and promoting slogans to protect it, the humanitarian model and to strengthen popular participation, he valued.
He reiterated what national unity means, all sectors of the Venezuelan people are dedicated to harmonious development, the public and private sectors put aside differences and make a united effort in favor of the homeland, to go to power in Venezuela.
Venezuela has reinvented itself and searched for its slogans to lift the sanctions, and as a national unity it demands that those who invoked unilateral restrictive measures and suffering for its people be revoked and brought to justice, he stressed. said.
