“Be careful, enough is enough” Jean-Yves Mano, president of the CLCV association (Consumption of Housing and Living Environment), protested on franceinfo’s microphone on Monday, January 22, following Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire’s announcement of an increase in electricity prices next month. In detail, from February 1, electricity bills will increase by 9.8% for off-peak and peak hours and 8.6% at basic rates.
The consumer association considers this increase “Could have been shifted” At a more appropriate time, viz “In the month of August” Or “After the Winter Season” to get “Less impact on household budget”. Its president Jean-Yves Mano believes so “34% of the (French) people are still in a state of deprivation” today. “And this increase will not allow them to improve their situation,” He adds.
“All this is unbearable”
He regrets the absence, moreover, of “Reappraising Energy Audits”. To compensate for this excess. He calls on the Govt “Revenue Increase” So that houses can “Probably support additional increases” In the more global context of inflation. “All this is unbearable for many French people who do not have the financial capacity to support these additional costs”Condemns the president of CLCV.
Jean-Yves Mano fears that this increase in electricity prices will force households “React in a day or two”. He says it like this “concerned with reactions that might result in signs of expression”.
