On December 5, the release of Grand Theft Auto VI turned the world upside down with a trailer that quickly became the most viewed video game trailer on YouTube in 24 hours. If fans were over the moon, Rockstar and Take-Two for their part faced a new leak, forcing them to release the video ahead of time, a topic the publisher recently returned to.
Take-Two was not affected by the leak
Interviewed by IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick initially said that everyone was very happy as the trailer made its way onto the internet, and he couldn’t be happier. And excited:
It’s amazing when a trailer announcement is big news, and we were so happy when the trailer hit the internet… so we couldn’t be happier and more excited.
Regarding the trailer being leaked before its official release, he says that while it’s disappointing, he doesn’t think it has affected the company:
As for the leak, it is still disappointing for the team, but ultimately I don’t think it has hurt us.
As a reminder, GTA VI is scheduled for 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC. This is one of the most anticipated games by players, and we obviously can’t wait to know more about the title.
