According to information compiled by The New York Post, it all started a few weeks ago, when the George Southwestern State University Police Department (GSW) asked the GBI to investigate the death of an 18-month-old child.
“Investigations indicate that an unresponsive 18-month-old child was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia. Hospital staff took steps to save the child’s life; However, he died,” the GBI assured the aforementioned media.
On the other hand, the Sumter County coroner found that when the baby was admitted to the emergency room, they registered him as Jaxton Drew, but according to the birth certificate, his name is Romeo Angeles.
At the moment, officials are awaiting the autopsy report, but preliminary findings suggest that the child’s cause of death was some form of blunt force trauma.
The beauty queen was arrested on murder and other charges following the death of the 18-month-old child.
Trinity Pogue was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, felony murder and first-degree cruelty to children.

After multiple interviews and an investigation into the child’s condition, GBI agents arrested former Miss Donalsonville, Trinity Pogue, on Friday, January 19. He is currently in the Sumter County Jail without bond.
While the investigation is ongoing, the committee in charge of the Miss Donaldsonville pageant has decided to vacate the title of Miss Donaldsonville based on the organization’s code of ethics. According to the “Donalsonville News,” the measure will continue until a new queen is crowned.
Poeg is known to have graduated with honors from Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus last year. She currently holds the title of Miss Donalsonville and recently participated in the National Peanut Festival held in late October.
Similarly, she was a student at Georgia Southwestern State University in America, where she was selected as one of the 22 freshmen to be part of President Jimmy Carter’s Leadership Program.
For its part, the child’s family has created a GoFundMe account for the 18-month-old’s father, who is the minor’s “sole caregiver.”
