Austin Butler channels Elvis Presley in v-necks and bell bottoms

Austin Butler is still living in his Elvis Presley era.

The actor showed it Dune: Part Two An event in Mexico City last night in a look straight out of the King of Rock and Roll’s wardrobe. The all-black fit includes a silky blouse layered under a long pinstripe blazer and matching high-waisted bell-bottom suit pants. The top featured hidden buttons and some embellished with glitter; Butler left it partially open, creating a deep V neckline.

The blazer had large shoulder pads, which created a dramatic silhouette and flared to the sides. Adding to the sharp angles of the look, the butler’s pants were cinched at the waist with a black leather belt with a silver buckle. He completed the ensemble with the ultimate Presley-esque statement piece: the pointy black leather boots with block heels—the footwear the late music legend wore during his Las Vegas residency days. The entire look was pulled straight from Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear runway.

Butler’s only jewelery was a thin silver chain necklace. As for her hair, she channeled a modern Presley with a messy, voluminous style.

Butler famously played Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic Elvis. Ever since he started preparing for the role, Butler has been channeling King with his style and his voice. The Method actor admits he’s found it hard to come back to himself after three years of thinking nothing but Presley, and has even hired a dialect coach to help him get over his Elvis accent. (Hopefully, working on it Dune (The role—he plays the evil Feyd-Rautha Harkonen—has helped.)

Yesterday, Butler walked the red carpet Dune: Part Two Press event with costars Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet and Josh Brolin.
