In a surprise turn that rivals her transformation from princess to villain on the big screen, Anne Hathaway has taken on the role of the perfect sidekick everyone dreams of, both in real life and on Broadway. Get ready, because Anne Hathaway is now Anna Wintour’s assistant.

But why would the venerable Anna Wintour willingly embark on the Devil Wears Prada scenario, a narrative she once dismissed?

So why did fashion’s reigning queen, Ann Wintour, suddenly decide to let Anne Hathaway, aka The Princess Diaries meet The Devil Wears Prada, manage her schedule? Blame it on Broadway madness, or as we like to call it, Gutenberg! A musical event.

The Vogue assistant never knew it was necessary

Picture this: Ann Wintour, the stoic editor-in-chief, on stage at the James Earl Theater alongside Anne Hathaway. the parcel? Two aspiring writers, dreaming of Broadway success on Johannes Gutenberg, are surprised with a Broadway producer at the end of each show. Enter Ann Wintour, introducing Hathaway as her “assistant” to surprise the audience.

In a moment where Miranda Priestly herself would smile, Hathaway asks, with a smile, “Yet?” As if to say, “Yeah, I’m back in support mode, folks!” The audience bursts into laughter and suddenly the cutthroat world of fashion has become a comedy, with Hathaway delivering equal parts boldness and dreaminess.

And guess what? It will move to London’s Dominion Theater in October 2024, with previews in Plymouth during the summer. Elton John’s musical skills should be the cherry on top of this advanced show.
