Amid criticism of Biden for his mental capacity, Kamala Harris says he’s “ready to govern”

The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, has declared herself fit to govern, amid criticism for continued lapses against President Joe Biden, particularly after a report on the preservation of classified documents characterized him as “well-intentioned and callous.”

“I am ready to rule. There’s no doubt about that,” Harris said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal last week on the president’s plane, Air Force Two, but this was published Monday. He added that everyone who knows how he works knows his leadership “ability”.

Harris’ statements come two days before special counsel Robert Hare concluded in a report that Biden’s memory is “significantly limited.” However, criticism of Biden’s ability to govern due to his age and memory has been rife since the 2020 election campaign, but has recently increased due to episodes of disorientation at public events, confusion when appointing leaders, and public falling out.

The biggest alarm

The publication described the memory of President Biden, 81, as “vague,” “flawed,” “weak” and with “significant limitations.”

The biggest alarm came when special prosecutor Hur estimated that the current president’s memory is so poor that he does not even remember the date he was vice president and when his son Beau died of cancer in 2015.

If re-elected, Biden would serve a second term at age 82, ending at age 86.

Although the special prosecutor declined to file charges against Biden in the case of withholding classified documents, the White House accused him of “inappropriate and inappropriate” criticism of the 81-year-old president’s mental acuity.

The Justice Department, which confirmed that Biden will not face charges, is moving against former President Donald Trump in a similar case.

After the release of the report, Biden said at a press conference that his memory was “good”, although shortly after at the same conference, he again skewered the Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, along with the Egyptian president, Abdelfattah el-Sisi. Doubts. Criticism about his health has worried Democrats in the months before the election campaign and in the absence of visible leadership for a replacement.
