Adele May Reynolds Ziegler

Adele May Reynolds Zeigler – Savannah – Adele May Zeigler, 96, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Dale lived a life full of joy and purpose.

During her life, she was an avid bowler, devoting several years to various bowling teams. She found immense joy in the kitchen, where her culinary talents shone brightly. Cooking was not just a skill for him; It was an expression of her love for family and friends. Her home was a gathering place for countless shared meals and memories.

Family was at the center of Dale’s heart, and she cherished every moment she spent with her loved ones. Holidays and summers were especially special times on the docks, filled with laughter, love and the creation of timeless family traditions.

Her family remembers her love of old movies, especially musicals. She also loved dancing, playing card games and watching the Atlanta Braves. Favorite Family Memory She loved watching The Price is Right.

Dale attended Bible Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding force in her life. She found solace and inspiration in gospel music, with a special love for The Gathers. In her later years, she enjoyed watching Charles Stanley.

She was born on September 22, 1927 to Harry Joseph Reynolds and Gertrude Wayne Sanders Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Warren (Bubba) Ziegler; sisters Marjorie R. McDonough, Harriet R. Barras and Betty R. Slater; and brother Harry J. Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sons, Mike Barthelmess and Danny Blue.

She is survived by her four daughters, Linda Z. Blue, Cookie Z. Barthelmess, both of Savannah, Ga; Janet Z. Clark (Bobby), Savannah and Sylvania, Ga; Eng Z Steity (Joe) Coming, Ga; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and service will be Jan. 16, 2024, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home on Hodgson Memorial Drive. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. service, Rev. Tommy East will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East. Remembrance: Spanish Oaks Hospice. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Barthelmess, Anthony Clark, Nicholas Staiti, Joseph Staiti and Christopher Staiti; great-grandsons Steven Hendricks and Landon Barthelmess; grandsons Thomas Steinbeck and Patrick Ferreira.

Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but the memories of her laughter, kindness and love will live forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
