With Grand Theft Auto VI coming soon, it’s easy to forget about the most recent title in the series, GTA V. However, this stunning graphical overhaul is meant to remind us that GTA V can still look better than ever.
Grand Theft Auto V was originally released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to multiple platforms over the following decade, including the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. To this day, GTA V continues to be Rockstar Games’ cash cow not only due to its unit sales, but also the microtransaction-infused world of GTA Online. Not to mention that GTA Online benefits from a lot of consistent content updates unlike Red Dead Online.
One of the best things about PC gaming is its ever-vibrant modding community that not only fixes bugs and glitches on behalf of developers, but also adds new content and makes games better than ever, like this real-life graphical overhaul for GTA. V mode. It will be interesting to see how well GTA V is supported once it arrives, but something tells me the modders won’t be letting it die anytime soon.
A gameplay video of the incredible mode was released on the Digital Dreams YouTube channel and highlights the realistic ray tracing and global lighting technology with the help of NaturalVision Remastered. If GTA V can look this good with mods now, imagine how good GTA VI would look on PC with the same mods.
Grand Theft Auto VI currently doesn’t have a release date, but we do know that it will be released sometime in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release date has not been announced yet.
