Tensions in Asia: ‘Nuclear war drills require us to be fully prepared for deadly war’, North Korea launches second missile in less than a week
North Korea fired several cruise missiles off its east coast on Sunday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, the second missile launch by Pyongyang in less than a week.
JCS said the missiles were fired around 8 a.m. local time (2300 GMT Saturday), adding that South Korean and US intelligence services were working together to analyze the launch. The JCS did not say how many missiles were fired. “Our military is cooperating closely with the United States, while increasing our surveillance and vigilance, and monitoring any signs or activity from North Korea.”JCS said in a statement.
