Hellblade 2 will not be released physically, only a digital version is planned! | Xbox
We expected it and Microsoft confirmed it, announcing the release of Hellblade 2 during the Xbox Developer_Direct conference. But beyond the more detailed presentation, important information has been confirmed by Microsoft.
There is no physical release for Hellblade 2
It may seem surprising for one of Xbox’s most anticipated games of the year, but Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will only be available in digital format. No physical version of the game is planned, and this is the developer who explained this through Ninja Theory’s studio head Dom Matthews.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a game made in a space we call “indie AAA”, where we’ve worked with the creative spirit and freedom of independent development while striving for the high-end production values associated with stand-alone games. AAA.
We also took advantage of the freedom offered by digital distribution and created a game whose length perfectly matched the experience we wanted, but which could be sold at a lower price to reflect the shorter length of our story. This framework allows us to focus on what we really care about: taking our fans on an unforgettable journey into Senua’s unique world.
The studio head adds that the game’s lifespan will be similar to the first Hellblade, meaning between 7 hours and 8 hours of gameplay. Hence the game will be sold in digital version for €49.99 only.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be available on May 21, 2024, on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will apparently be integrated into Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on its release day.
