Ghost of Tsushima’s developer, Sucker Punch Productions, is highly regarded for creating a variety of titles, and Infamous 2 is reportedly seen as its second-best game of all time. This action-adventure RPG game is set in a world where you play as Jin Sakai, a samurai whose job it is to save an island from misfortune – an invasion from the Mongols.
Before the release of this highly acclaimed game, the studio took a long hiatus after collaborating with Sony Interactive Entertainment to release the infamous Second Son. The hiatus paid off as Ghost of Tsushima became a title with a top storyline, and the developer’s years of disappearance were not in vain. So, try this game; It has elements like The Last of Us Part 2.
3) Plague Tale: Innocence
If you want to turn your attention from The Last of Us Part 2 to an incredibly terrifying yet exciting video game, you can start your A Plague Tale: Journey of Innocence. It’s a survival-horror video title set in 14th-century France, where you aim to survive and find your way through a dishonest world.
The game has a unique narrative and gameplay, and the experience you get from it reminds you of The Last of Us Part 2. Here, you are a vulnerable protagonist whose life is on the line and you must ensure that you see the light of tomorrow.
Besides, the overworld, the storyline and the challenges you face keep you engrossed in the game. Dark medieval mystery, plague spreading rats and in-game audio and visuals make you appreciate the game even more.
4) Lord of War
Before fathering Kratos and taking the series to new heights, the popular God of War title was a true hack-and-slash power fantasy game. It was semi-rebooted in 2018. This game is a must-try because of its story: a broken man gets a second chance to make things right.
That said, you traverse a semi-open world where you engage in brutal combat. If you don’t apply strategy while fighting you can easily lose. Moreover, the unprepared will never know what is coming their way.
There are many things in the game that can rival The Last of Us Part 2; An example is its cinematic experience. God of War explores the relationship between father and son. Their story resonates on a deeper level, much like Joel and Elena’s relationship from TLOU.
