This Million-Dollar Marvel Blockbuster Was About To Launch A Huge Universe, But It All Happened Very Differently – Movie News

The $230 million Marvel movie whose universe was unfortunately shelved for an inexplicable reason. But even so, it provided a sensational presence.
Andrew Garfield can be considered the “middle child” when it comes to movies dedicated to the hugely popular hero Spider-Man. He’s languished in the middle of the other Spidey performers: Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland, and unfortunately never quite managed to reach his full potential in the franchise. But it is possible to watch his first Marvel film, The Amazing Spider-Man, on streaming.
The Amazing Spider-Man follows the high school years of Peter Parker (Garfield), who is deeply lonely and in love with his classmate Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). When bitten by a genetically modified spider, he develops superpowers. And it should immediately use them against a killer supervillain.
The Amazing Spider-Man was a box office success, and Garfield received his second Marvel appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Menace of Electro. After that, the universe should be expanded, with a spin-off directed by Jamie Foxx dedicated to the surviving villain.
But things fell apart. The deal between production company Sony and rights owner Marvel fell through, and Garfield lost his Spider-Man job to Tom Holland. Much to the delight of many fans, he reappears in the latest Spider-Man: Never Go Home.
Whether or not the expansion of Garfield’s superhero universe that was once planned will still hit the screens is, at this point, merely a matter of fan speculation. Unfortunately there is no concrete indication of this.
