Celebrities who declined to participate in film sequels

Flip! Now let me introduce you to some celebrities who opted out of participating in movie sequels. The list features names like Will Smith, Natalia Portman and Jim Carrey.

Natalie Portman participated in the first two films of the Thor saga in 2011 and 2013, but did not want to participate in the 2017 version due to a change in direction: Patty Jenkins by Alan Taylor. She played Thor’s girlfriend Jane Foster.

Without him (pictured), Disha chose another actor, Jason Patric, who played another policeman. Reeves’ character had already ended a relationship with another protagonist, Sandra Bullock’s character. The most impressive scene was the attack on a ship.

Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins (2005). However, he declined to make a sequel as his focus was more on making comedy films.

Thus, in 2008, in Batman: The Dark Knight, the character was played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Both films were part of a trilogy written by Christopher Nolan. In the third feature, in 2012, the character originally played by Holmes did not appear.

Crispin Glover played George McFly in the movie Back to the Future, one of cinema’s most famous movies. However, he did not want to participate in the sequel in 1989. It is all because of financial disagreement and script as well.

Management then called in Jeffrey Weissman to replace George Crispin. The new actor used the other’s mannerisms as well as visual effects.

Another classic film is Leprechaun in New York (2003), starring Will Ferrell. He was offered $29 million to make a sequel, but turned it down.

This is all to make the script look bad. After this Disha decided not to make another sequel.

Robert Duvall played lawyer Tom Hagen in the first two films of The Godfather trilogy. However, due to financial reasons, he did not want to participate in the third in 1990.

The directors of the film made the third film without him. The character died in the story.

Jim Carrey is the protagonist of “The Almighty” (2003). The film was very successful and still is, but the actor did not want to participate in the sequel “A Volta do Almighty” in 2007.
