“It wasn’t a very fun experience,” says Overwatch 2 director of review bombing

Overwatch 2 This is one of the most controversial games of recent years. Since its launch in 2022, it has faced all sorts of controversy due to its free model and microtransactions. While fans are very vocal about their dislike, they recently reached out to Steam to voice their displeasure. This situation forced the project manager to react.
Last week, a free game from Blizzard came out on Steam. Unfortunately, the community reaction was not very favorable. Within the first day, it was the target of a bombardment of reviews and received thousands of negative reviews. Shortly thereafter, it became the lowest rated game in Steam history.
While many of the complaints are genuine and point to real problems, a large percentage of the negative comments come from trolls, fans Team Fortress 2 and Chinese players who are upset that the game has disappeared in that country.

In a post on the Official Blizzard Blog, Aaron Keller talked about the new Season 6 content and community response. In the final part of the statement, he opened up and addressed the recent wave of negative reviews.
“We released (the game) on Steam last week and while the review bombing wasn’t fun, it was great to see so many new players joining the game. Overwatch 2 for the first time. Our goal is to make the game more accessible than ever to more people,” said the director.

Creative acknowledges that many of the criticisms are about the PvE component, which was announced in 2019 and which, unfortunately, will never be implemented. He understands the frustrated users and notes that it was a very ambitious project that they failed to realize.
Despite the setbacks, Aaron Keller is committed to the future of the title and ensures that they will work on releasing new content to expand the experience.
“If we cannot turn back time, what can we do? Add (new content) and improve Overwatch 2. This is how we move forward. This means more maps, heroes, game modes, missions, stories, events, cosmetics and features; game in constant expansion, development and improvement. This is the future Overwatch. One where we are constantly creating and innovating what makes the game great for the players who are playing now,” said the person in charge of the title.
