Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a message for food for the people of Maui badly affected by the wildfires.

The actor, who spent part of his childhood in Hawaii, went on instagram this Sunday to talk about the fire that claimed at least 96 lives and asked his followers to donate to the Hawaii Community Foundation aimed at helping with relief efforts.

“Until this point, everyone in the world has not seen the complete destruction and devastation that has befallen our island of Hawaii, our island of Maui,” he said in a video message. “I’m completely gutted and I know everyone else out there is too.”

Johnson recognized the work of first responders, medical care teams and “local heroes”.

“All of our local families, our Ohana, our supporters, have stayed strong during this devastating time. Resilience is in our DNA. Our ancestors are in our blood. This is us. We do this. I want. Stay strong”, wrote on the photo pie.

He said Johnson is currently working with grassroots organizations to help as soon as possible.

“Thank you people all over the world for your love and support, your light, your prayers,” Johnson said. “Thank you for sending them to the Hawaiian Islands, to the people of Hawaii”.
