Baldur’s Gate 3 takes over Steam with over 800K concurrent players

Official launch of Baldur’s Gate 3 last Thursday making it one of the top Steam releases of the year. SteamDB Logs Show Larian Studios RPG Yesterday reached an impressive peak of 814,666 concurrent players on the Valve platform.

But given its availability on GOG, actually more players have liked the game lately. While sales data is not available, Larian Studios has shared this. it sold over 2.5 million copies during early access.

Reached Baldur’s Gate 3 popularity levels comparable to games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2attracting a large audience. In addition, the title has received positive reviews, with current approval rates of over 90%.

Although Baldur’s Gate 3 was a success, Larian Studios has announced that it will not be doing any such projects in the near future. Founder Sven Wiecke plans to focus on smaller projects after the RPG support phase.

During a recent interview, Sven Wicke, founder and director of Larian Studios, shared this. the company decided to abandon the development of Divinity: Fallen Heroesproject announced in 2019. Wicke explained that the focus had shifted to making Baldur’s Gate 3.

In addition to developing patches for the PC version, Larian Studios is moving forward with the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on consoles. Although the PlayStation 5 version will arrive on September 6th, Xbox Series X owners | S will have to wait until early 2024 to enjoy it.
