Zoe Saldana mourns the end of Gamora and Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 ~ Marvel Universe 616
If Zoe Saldana is correct, Gamora and Star-Lord could be in line for an unexpected reunion at some point in the MCU’s future. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 served as a pivotal moment in history for the cosmic side of Marvel, marking the final appearance of this team of heroes as most of them went their separate ways across the universe. Notably, this apparently meant that Saldana’s time as Gamora would be coming to an end, with the actress openly admitting that she wouldn’t be against moving away from the blockbuster after James Gunn’s departure from DC Studios. Now the conversation has obviously changed.

Zoe Saldana teased the idea of a possible reunion between her Gamora and Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. When asked about her feelings about James Gunn not taking the “obvious route” to force a romance between her and Star-Lord, Saldana called it a “bitter-sweet decision”, but also Said that it “felt like the right way to end things”.
“I did. It was obviously a bitter-sweet decision. I wanted to know if, in the final chapter, Gamora moves on and finds some way to be a Guardian again. But it felt right for her to end things.” felt way, because of what she had done. At the end of the day, no matter what diversity she came from, she would still have the same experience with Thanos (Josh Brolin), and she would still have the same guilt and the same trauma. So She finally found solace in Robbers, and she felt more open than ever.”
He also explained that Quill’s disconnection may have upset Gamora, but it also gave him hope that the two heroes would “find a way back into each other’s lives” in the future following their surprise resurrections:
“I think the whole thing with Peter bothered her, because even though she didn’t remember who he was, she felt like he had to be special. And I appreciated it because it gave us a kind of There is hope that if the Guardians seek again with the help of the robbers, perhaps Gamora and Peter will find a way back into each other’s lives, even if only as friends.”
However, this happened when Saldana announced her retirement from the MCU following her efforts in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Will the actress now reconsider and postpone her departure, and who knows she might even appear in a Star-Lord film?
