It’s time to look ahead to what will be a very busy week of new Netflix Originals and Netflix licensed content. Below, we’ll walk you through all 47 releases currently scheduled for the service and pick our top three highlights.
This week is busier than usual as Netflix original programming is stacked up for this week, plus we’re entering a new month, which means lots of removals and additions, especially for licensed movies . Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week
Nimona (2023)
coming to netflix: Friday
For those following this adaptation of the ND Stevenson comics, it’s often been a painful journey, but after a long wait, the time has come to check it out. Nimona In all its glory.
Having already premiered at the Annecy Film Festival, many reviews are circulating and they are overwhelmingly positive. In fact, at the time of publication, the film holds a 100% RottenTomatoes rating.
Lauren Lamagma for Next Best Picture perhaps summed up the general reaction best by saying:
“Directors Nick Bruno and Troy Kwan give us a rebellious, funny, gritty, heartfelt, raunchy piece of animated punk-rock magic that will stand the test of time and become an instant household classic for many.”
Magician (Season 3 – Vol. 1)

Despite the looming crisis over The Witcher on Netflix, it remains one of Netflix’s most-watched titles and a two-part third season will premiere later this week.
Netflix has teased that the new season, which will be Henry Cavill’s last, will see chaos.
Destruction (2018)
coming to netflix: Friday
Of the many licensed movies coming to Netflix this week (mostly Saturday – July 1st), the one we found most notable is Paramount Pictures’ Annihilation. The film has been on Netflix for the past five years as a Netflix Original across all regions, but has now finally been added to Netflix US.
Certified Fresh on RottenTomatoes is Alex Garland’s sci-fi film about a team of researchers who head to Area X to find out what happened to Lena’s husband.
The film stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.
