LEGO Marvel 76266 Endgame Final Battle initial review says it’s ‘messy but beautiful’

An early review of LEGO Marvel 76266 Endgame Final Battle called the August 2023 set a “messy but beautiful” recreation of Avengers: Endgame’s climactic battle.

Coming out next month along with five other LEGO Marvel sets, 76266 Endgame Final Battle pays homage to the moment in the fourth Avengers movie when the Russo brothers squeezed almost all of the female superheroes into one frame. This scene is missing some characters – Lifeguard (Pepper Potts), Gamora, Nebula, Mantis – but has Shuri, Okoye, Captain Marvel, Valkyrie, Wanda Maximoff and the Wasp micro action figure.

Youtuber mandrproducciones (or Ryan) has already gotten his hands on a preview copy of the 794-piece set, and right off the bat he says his initial impression of the build (just out of the box) is that it “looks like one of the dirtiest.” LEGO structures I’ve never seen before.” Built on a round black base, just like 76261 Spider-Man’s Last Stand, the diorama attempts to capture the explosive battlefield where our heroes face Thanos, complete with debris, rubble, and the destroyed Avengers headquarters.

By the time he was talking about seven characters (you have a big Thanos next to the women) and the build, Ryan’s opinion hadn’t changed much. “With all the minifigures it looks a little messier than it used to be,” he says, “but it’s also such a cool battle scene recreated in this way, I have to say I love it.”

His review highlights all the minifigures in the box, showing how the vertical diorama can be opened to reveal several Easter eggs inside, including Mjolnir and Captain America’s shield, and takes us through the entire build, from the portal above (from which the Valkyrie can emerge on horseback) to Luis’s truck, complete with a Quantum Tunnel sticker.

This is just the latest in a series of LEGO Marvel sets depicting the final battle scene in Avengers: Endgame, but is drastically different from its predecessors, which focused primarily on recreating a fully built Avengers complex. Ryan points out that 76266 Endgame’s Final Battle will do a lot of good, and it should help him find an audience in August.

“I think this is a really cool demo and a unique way to recreate the iconic scene from the Avengers: Endgame finale,” the YouTuber concludes. “He may not be as good as Spider-Man, but you can still buy him if you’re interested for $100.”

76266 Final Battle Battle launches August 1st for £94.99 / $99.99 / €104.99.
