Amy Schumer talks Barbie movie after turning down role

Amy Schumer has finally seen the Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie after turning down the lead due to creative differences. On his Instagram, he praised the outcome of the feature and also commented on another highly anticipated film Oppenheimer. Schumer jokingly joked that she should have played Emily Blunt in Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece Oppenheimer.

“I really like Barbie and Oppenheimer, but I think I should have played Emily Blunt. Better do it, Hollywood,” he joked.

The actress had announced her exit from The Barbie Project in 2017, citing scheduling conflicts. However, it was only in 2022 that he revealed the real reason for leaving the role: creative differences with the film’s team. She said at the time in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “They certainly didn’t want to do it the way I wanted it, the only way I was interested in doing it.”

While not a part of the project, Amy Schumer showed that she was on board with the production and was satisfied with the final result of Barbie. His good humor when referring to another highly anticipated film, Oppenheimer, reflects his ease with the choices made by the cinematographic universe.
