Today we’re celebrating 11 years since the birth of one of the most iconic boy bands in music history: One Direction.
The group was formed in September 2010, when 5 young protagonists; Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Lewis Tomlinson will take part in the famous program “The X Factor” in the United Kingdom. Although they finished third, the chemistry between them was undeniable and a new era.
With their breakthrough single “What Makes You Beautiful”, released in 2011, One Direction became a British phenomenon and later won over a worldwide audience. Despite Zayn’s departure in 2015, the band continued to make hits until their break in 2016.
Each member pursued a solo musical career, but One Direction’s legacy lives on in the memory of millions of fans.
During their career, the boyband has sold over 200 million records and received numerous awards and recognitions. Their international tours were a huge success, filling stadiums around the world.
Even though the band is no longer together, One Direction’s influence on the music and lives of its followers is undeniable, and its legacy will continue to inspire new generations of artists.
