shocking! “Gladiator 2” accused of committing crime during filming

In a surprising turn of events, the sequel to the award-winning film Gladiator has come under fire following allegations of animal abuse. Directed by Riddy Scott and produced by Scott Free Productions, Gladiator 2 is being produced in partnership with Paramont and Universal Pictures. However, the latest report released on 19th July 2023 shows that the project is facing some significant hurdles.

According to a report published by TMZ, one of the most respected portals of the North American press, director Ridley Scott was accused by a well-known animal rights group, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), of allegedly allowing animal abuse during the filming of the Gladiator sequel.

Animals used in dangerous conditions?

In an official open letter sent by the NGO to the production, it is alleged that the animals involved in the filming, including horses and monkeys, were subjected to unsanitary working conditions. According to the indictment, the animals were being exposed to extreme heat and heavy clothing, which led to leg problems in one of the horses due to the stressful conditions.

The document, signed by Lauren Thomson, one of PETA’s directors, expresses the organization’s concern and requests an immediate response from Riddy Scott and the entire production team.

What did Thomson ask in the open letter?

The open letter expresses PETA’s request in stark terms: “We request that you immediately cancel plans to use real animals for the film. Can we please hear from you about this matter immediately?” Such appeals make it clear how serious the situation is and call into question the attitude of large production companies towards animal welfare.

What’s next for Gladiator 2?

Gladiator 2, which is a sequel to the original 2000 film and takes place 25 years after the story of the first film, is scheduled to release on November 21, 2024. However, in light of these recent allegations, it is unclear whether these claims will affect the production or release date of the film in any way. For now, the film world is anxiously waiting for a response from Ridley Scott and the team involved in the Gladiator sequel.
