From the first film to the new film, the producers of Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse required a change in Miles Morales’ Spider-Man look. And since the first look was so iconic, it was hard for Chris Anka to think of new costumes for the hero. Here we have the artist’s testimony when creating several visual variations for Miles.

“My friend, #MilesMorales! Miles was probably one of the most difficult assignments for me conceptually. I fought hard to come up with something new with the suit, but also to keep what worked in the first Spider-Verse suit. It was done in 5 months” said the artist.

“None of them were really successful, they always looked like something we’d seen before. The first suit became so iconic to Miles that I just couldn’t see how to take it apart and create something new” Chris Anka told;

Christafer Anka said that “It’s important to note based on some of the comments, I have more than 8/10 people making choices based on what I’m presenting. I am the lens in which those choices are being portrayed, but many times the designs are chosen without me being in the room”.

“Miles is arguably the most important design in the movie and we’ll have to take a lot of looks to agree on the final look, and they all have different tastes. I can do my best to offer my take, but it’s not up to me to make the final decision.”

“My final pass on Miles, which was ironically the first time I really felt like I was doing something new with him. From here @willcoyner got to characterization to work with the directors to reach the final look of the suit.”

The Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse cast includes returning stars Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy), Jake Johnson (Peter B.
