8 out of 10: flexible working is good for mental health

People recognize the importance of finding balance in their lives, and organizations are actively responding to this by promoting the well-being of their employees. In this way, they can achieve a balance that promotes greater happiness and productivity.
Over time, the importance of self-care, that is, meeting personal needs to promote physical, mental and emotional health, becomes more and more obvious to people. In this context, July 24th is Take Care of Yourself Day, highlighting the importance of ensuring one’s own well-being and maintaining a healthy balance in various aspects of life.
In this sense, work becomes a fundamental area of human activity, since it takes up most of his time. Therefore, it is very important that organizations ensure well-being in the work environment in order to achieve a proper balance between professional and personal life. This includes ensuring that employees have the freedom and conditions necessary to develop fully both in the workplace and in other aspects of their lives.
According to WeWork and consultant Michael Page’s “Behind the Hybrid Revolution” survey, 66% of Argentines surveyed say that if they had to choose a work pattern, they would choose a hybrid model because of its flexibility and the benefits it brings in personal and professional environments.
In addition, 79% of respondents (almost 8 out of 10) note the positive impact of flexible modality on their mental health. It is these characteristics that are causing more and more people and companies to rethink their strategies to make them more collaborative.
“Self care is not limited to one day, it should be a constant practice in our daily lives. Developing the habit of taking care of ourselves can help us maintain a healthy balance and deal with everyday challenges with greater resilience and well-being. In this context, organizations can develop a culture that values and prioritizes self-care. This includes creating a work environment that promotes work-life balance, encouraging employees to take care of their physical, mental and emotional health,” said Rocio Robledo, Country Manager for WeWork Argentina.
Trends in the talent market show that the future of work will be flexible. With the advent of digital nomads and technology, employees have more freedom when it comes to choosing where to work, adapting the work environment to their individual needs and preferences.
This greater work flexibility not only benefits talent, but organizations as well, as achieving work-life balance can boost employee productivity, creativity, and satisfaction, allowing them to better manage their time and work environment.
“Given economic changes, organizations are adapting to new ways of working and rethinking their strategies to meet changing employee needs. By prioritizing flexibility, technology support, professional development and well-being, companies can create a work environment that promotes employee and organization success and satisfaction,” concludes Robledo.
For her part, Romina Diepa, Human Resources Manager for WeWork Argentina and Chile, adds: “Another factor that is becoming important for employee happiness is having personalized benefits that are tailored to each person’s needs and improve their well-being. Emotional wages are aimed at meeting the emotional needs and well-being of employees, increasing their motivation, commitment and productivity, which directly affects the reputation and economic results of the company.”
