Dr. Daniel Diaz Martinez, Minister of Health of the State of Guanajuato, recalled that Aedes aegypti, the vector of dengue, Zika and Chikungunya fever, inhabits almost the entire state, vector control strategies are aimed at reducing its density and thereby reducing the risk of transmission.
To combat this fly, 14,190 traps have been supplied at the state level.
At the state level, this fly is captured, in total 5551 flies are caught, 29.99% are Aedes aegypti.
Of the total number of Aedes aegypti, 75.98% were females with blood. 0.53% of positive results cause dengue fever.
Diaz Martinez pointed out that the main control strategy is to eliminate breeding sites, which involves the participation and cooperation of society, by implementing the recommendations following the “Wash, cover, turn and throw” strategy, since without breeding sites there are no flies, and without flies, these diseases are not transmitted.
And he called for washing with soap and a brush buckets, sinks, water containers, vases and any container that can serve to accumulate water.
Cover any container in which they store water for drinking or other activities.
Turn over any object that you do not use and in which water can accumulate, mosquitoes look for these places to breed.
Throw away bottles, tires, cans, or utensils that are no longer in use and that may collect water.
Similarly, if they cannot be disposed of, they can be pierced as a solution to avoid liquid content.
The control strategy aims to eliminate hatcheries, which involves the participation and cooperation of society, by implementing the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, following the “Wash, cover, turn and throw” strategy, because without hatcheries there are no flies, and without flies, these diseases are not transmitted.
