  • Health centers were equipped with 448 new computers and will be able to work interconnected with the entire regional system.
  • With computerization and technology, the primary health care network has become more functional, accessible and convenient for residents.

With 100 health centers spread over 576 square kilometers, the primary health care network in the city of Córdoba is the most extensive in Latin America and, thanks to a number of digital transformation solutions, is on track to become the most advanced in the region.

During Martin Llariora’s administration, a significant investment was made in the primary health care system to renovate, equip and evaluate buildings that had serious problems due to lack of maintenance, and introduced technology, connectivity and computer developments to facilitate, simplifications and community guarantees. access to quality health care.

The digital transformation of the primary health care system is based on four pillars, the implementation of which accelerated after the pandemic with the creation of the Secretariat for Prevention and Public Health under the leadership of Liliana Montero, and on which the management of medical specialties is based. Epidemiology, preventive medicine, social drug addiction policy, and municipal dental care are areas that have also been affected by modernization policies.

“The health care of the municipality was, in terms of technology and digitization, one of the most backward we have encountered, and the modernization of health care has been one of the challenges. Mayor Martin Liariora had a vision to place the city of Córdoba at the forefront of not only Argentina, but also Latin America.”Montero said.

– Connection for a unique digital medical record

The decision to digitize the municipal first-level health care system included the purchase of 448 computers for health centers and 154 computers for other addresses to be able to work interconnectedly and networked.

96 out of 100 sanatoriums are in this state, when at the beginning of administration almost all benefits were issued manually.

The other four centers (in Ferrer, Cornu, Mercantil and Güemes) are in the process of structural renovation or are in the process of moving to new locations and will be added to the network after completion of the work.

With this guaranteed coverage, an unprecedented event for the country’s public health, the municipality introduced the Unified Digital Health Record system.

This development facilitates the professional task and allows for better care as it centralizes information, avoids unnecessary research requests, and promotes fast and timely decision making through management metrics.

It is the result of a painstaking process undertaken by the General Directorate of Technology Coordination of the Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Sergio Revilla, in accordance with the provincial medical records system, which allows the formulation of benefits throughout the territory of Córdoba.
Electronic prescription.

The #Improve program for free access to medicines for people without health insurance has changed the paradigm of dispensing medicines at the state level, since it is done by electronic prescription.

It works with the Board of Physicians and the College of Pharmacists so that after a professional prescribes a drug, the traceability of the drug and the user’s identity are checked online and they can immediately go with their ID to pick it up. , from the pharmacy.

#Mejorar began in November 2022 with the prescription of psychotropic drugs for 466 people in a program that involved 13 professionals, 16 health effectors and 47 pharmacies near institutions.

On May 16, 2023, it was extended to medicines for IRRA (lower respiratory infections) and chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

With an average of 55 prescriptions per day, 1,354 prescriptions were filled in the first month.

61% (about 823) were required to be treated with IRAB and were digitally signed by 104 professionals out of 56 healthcare professionals. During this period, 51 local pharmacies took part in the project, and the implementation continues progressively.

telemedicine service. It is the first facility of its kind in the province of Córdoba to provide digital health care through a specially designed computer system.

It is located at Avenida Colón 4726 and consists of a call center for follow-up calls and virtual offices.

The development involves the professional participation of the departments of epidemiology, preventive medicine and primary health care, with the technical support of the General Secretariat.

This first phase focuses on the monitoring of communicable diseases subject to mandatory notification and the prevention and management of chronic noncommunicable diseases (ECNT).

Consultations are held every 20 minutes and follow all biosafety protocols. Telesalud shares the building with a brand new 24/7 municipal emergency dental service that already uses online medical records and has a state-of-the-art digitized and stable x-ray system.

Building monitoring with BIM. Building Information Modeling (BIM) works like a large database after a survey and subsequent 3D modeling, where each element of the digital model contains data that serves to optimize the project, costs, logistics and timing of future work.

The municipality plans to roll out the system in various districts and has started rolling it out in 100 health centers. The survey will allow you to remotely have instant status and improve procurement and supply planning, focus on energy efficiency, facilitate operation and maintenance of works, reduce costs, improvisations and errors.
