Katy Perry opens up about her decision to quit drinking

“For me, it was a chance to reset. We started after President’s Day (February) and it was a great opportunity to let my body recover a bit. I had a really good relationship to keep the balance,” he explained.

Last April, the singer touched on the topic of sobriety for the first time, when she celebrated five weeks without drinking. He said this is due to Orlando’s promise to give up alcohol for at least three months.

The singer herself revealed her decision during an outing with “American Idol” friends Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest.

Together they went to “Mr. Paradise” in New York to celebrate, but Katy warned that she would not attend the meeting for a specific reason, saying on that occasion:

Pretending to cry over her decision, she joked, “I’m five weeks sober today… I’m making a pact with my partner and I want to stop.”

When Brian jokingly asked if she was giving up, she replied, “No girl! I can’t accept defeat. I made a promise. Three months,” he warned.

But according to “People” magazine, the 38-year-old singer, mother of little Daisy, was able to stay at her place and enjoy a nice aperitif without alcohol, thanks to her zero-alcohol-content beverage line ‘De Soi’ . Which was launched by Perry last year.

While meeting at the venue, the artist also taught friends how to make their favorite cocktail recipe in De Soi’s Golden Hour Citrus flavor.
