In the month of childhood, the Government of Zacatecas will celebrate the minors in the Zigzag in a big way

• On Thursday, April 27, at 12:00 p.m., the first temporary exhibition of 2023 “Of dreams and chintetes” will be inaugurated.
  
• It will be open until next July 16, a period in which around 12,000 people are expected to visit
  
• On Sunday, April 30, the Day of the Girl and the Boy will be celebrated with free admission for the public; there will be theater, workshops and activities to approach science
  

Zacatecas, Zac., April 24, 2023.- The Government of Zacatecas, headed by the president David Monreal Ávila, will celebrate in a big way the little ones in the home, for whom there will be, in the Zacatecas Zigzag Interactive Center for Science and Technology, special activities, such as the temporary exhibition ” Of dreams and chintetes” and the free celebration of the Day of the Girl and the Boy.

Atenea Morales Samaniego, director of the Zigzag of the Zacatecan Council of Science, Technology and Innovation (Cozcyt), announced the program of activities dedicated to children and invited families to attend, in order to promote healthy coexistence and be partners in the efforts state to achieve welfare and progress for the entity.

He said that on Thursday, April 27, at 12:00 p.m., the temporary exhibition “Of dreams and chintetes, creativity and culture of Mexican toys” will be inaugurated at the Zigzag, made up of more than 200 pieces of wood, cardboard and tin, part of the collection of the cultural manager, Martín Letechipia Alvarado, who provided elements from different periods of Mexico: pre-Hispanic, colonial and revolutionary.

The director emphasized that Zacatecan families will be able to enjoy this exhibition of toys and popular Mexican art until July 16, a period in which it is projected that it will be visited by around 12,000 people, as part of the effort of Cozcyt and Zigzag to encourage and bring children closer to Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in a fun way.

The objective of Cozcyt, through Zigzag, is to show the population the importance of traditional games and toys, as means for girls and boys to develop skills, such as socialization, planning, leadership, psychomotor skills, imagination and curiosity, all of them present in people who are part of the science and technology sectors.

On the other hand, Morales Samaniego specified that to celebrate the Day of the Girl and the Boy on April 30, the Zigzag has prepared a great party for the little ones, so next Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: 00 hours, families will be able to enter for free, to participate in workshops and fun activities to approach the CTI.

In the program specially prepared for children in Zacatecas by Zigzag, the guests of honor will be the children of the Mexican Association of Children with Cancer (AMANC) Zacatecas, who will also give talks for the timely detection of childhood cancer.

With the support of Alas y Raíces from the Zacatecan Institute of Culture (IZC) and the Kinemed rehabilitation clinic, there will be three presentations of plays by the companies Tercera Llamada and Mezquite Teatro Colectivo.

Likewise, the Zigzag team of science educators will develop workshops on microscopy, water for all, space shuttle, super heroines of science, Women vs. men, who contributed the most?, water in Zork “The Mars mission” and programming with blocks.
